2019 Casa de Mouraz Encruzado DOC Dão BIO White

12,50 c/ IVA

The excellence of the Encruzado grape variety, the noblest white grape variety in the Dão. The grapes come from vineyards that are around 50 years old, with granite soils and average altitudes of 350m. Natural fermentation took place in stainless steel vats for 2 months. It aged for several months on its fine lees and was then racked (“battonage sur lies”). Floral and mineral, fresh and structured, balance in the form of wine. The nose shows aromas of mint, apricot and orange blossom. The palate is fresh, mineral and full-bodied, with a fine, delicate finish. Delicious with cheese, pasta and some Italian dishes, as well as fatty fish (cod, salmon, tuna). It also goes well with white meat dishes.

Description

Casa de Mouraz was founded in 2000. That year saw the start of this project of sustainable viticulture and the production of authentic, natural wines that respect and express all the richness of their terroir of origin. All the vineyards are cultivated organically and biodynamically, and cohabit with the local fauna and flora in order to maintain the ecological balance. The grape varieties grown are more than 30 and are exclusively Portuguese. All this biodiversity, as well as the love for this place, is reflected in the personality and complexity of Casa de Mouraz’s wines.
