2015 Casa de Mouraz Private Selection DOC Dão BIO Red

20,50 c/ IVA

Produced mainly from Touriga-Nacional and Jaen, the grapes come from two vineyard plots: a granite plot with a mixed vineyard that is over 50 years old and a much younger plot with a soil that is a mixture of granite and clay, where the Touriga-Nacional is planted. 50% of the wine was aged in French oak for 12 months and the rest in stainless steel. Intense bouquet of ripe red fruits, jam and plums, with hints of spices and resin. Firm, ripe tannins, great complexity and a long finish. Typical Dão freshness and elegance, combined with the unique character of the old vines. Perfect with meat dishes such as kid or lamb, as well as stewed or baked veal. It also goes well with strong cheeses.

Description

Casa de Mouraz was founded in 2000. That year saw the start of this project of sustainable viticulture and the production of authentic, natural wines that respect and express all the richness of their terroir of origin. All the vineyards are cultivated organically and biodynamically, and cohabit with the local fauna and flora in order to maintain the ecological balance. The grape varieties grown are more than 30 and are exclusively Portuguese. All this biodiversity, as well as the love for this place, is reflected in the personality and complexity of Casa de Mouraz’s wines.
