Vesuvio’s old vines produce a very small number of bunches per plant, rarely yielding more than 700g/vine. These small, compact bunches produce tremendously concentrated and well-structured wines. Vesúvio Vintage 2016 was made from a combination of the estate’s best vineyards, carefully selected by Charles Symington and his team: Vale da Teja vineyards provided the main structure, Vinha do Pombal contributed the acidity that brings freshness to the wine and the Castelos section contributed to its substance and structure. “A quinta de todas as quintas”
Quinta do Vesúvio produces muscular yet smooth wines, with an incredibly refined structure that reflects great harmony and elegance. The Ports are big and unctuous with juicy fruit, and at the same time with immense grace. These wines, while young, are dark red in color and always very aromatic, with hints of violets and wild spring flowers.
