Description
At the time the movie takes place, Moscatel was already loved by the kings of France and the United Kingdom – having been famously considered the “sun in the bottle”, used as a bargaining chip by foreign explorers thanks to its inherent quality, and awarded among the most prestigious wine prizes over time.
For the last 100 years, this wine has aged in used oak barrels at the José Maria da Fonseca winery, Adega dos Teares Velhos, in Azeitão. Now, the company has decided to fill 500 bottles of this brilliant wine to share with the world.
This exclusive release is the kind of wine in which, a century later, you taste a unique story in its very long finish and balanced aroma of dried fruit, coffee, black tea, toasted bread and ripened pineapple. It’s an eccentric but soft wine, with an excellent balance between sugar and acidity.
