2017 Casa de Mouraz Elfa DOC Dão BIO Red

28,50 c/ IVA

Produced from typical Dão grape varieties, from an old vineyard about 90 years old. More than 30 grape varieties, including Baga, Jaen, Tinta-Pinheira, Alvarelhão, Alfrocheiro and many others, with the exception of Touriga-Nacional (almost non-existent in this vineyard). The vines have been cultivated organically since the early 90s. Vinification took place in stainless steel vats with temperature control, followed by a long maceration. No barrel ageing. On the palate it shows a lively character and a lot of freshness, with very elegant tannins and great aromatic complexity. Freshness and elegance combined with a very personalized character resulting from the presence of a wide variety of grape varieties. Perfect with game dishes (especially poultry) or mushroom risotto.

Description

Casa de Mouraz was founded in 2000. That year saw the start of this project of sustainable viticulture and the production of authentic, natural wines that respect and express all the richness of their terroir of origin. All the vineyards are cultivated organically and biodynamically, and cohabit with the local fauna and flora in order to maintain the ecological balance. The grape varieties grown are more than 30 and are exclusively Portuguese. All this biodiversity, as well as the love for this place, is reflected in the personality and complexity of Casa de Mouraz’s wines.
