The result of an atypical year, the 2004 Vesuvio has an opaque purple color. The excellent ripeness of the grapes and the relatively high Baumés allowed for longer fermentations, producing wines of exceptional concentration, depth of color and tannic structure. It has a fragrant nose of violets and layers of blackberry on the palate, making it irresistible while young, although the wine will age for decades. WE94, JG93, JR18.5

Quinta do Vesúvio produces muscular yet smooth wines with an incredibly refined structure that reflects great harmony and elegance. The Port wines are big and unctuous with juicy fruit, and at the same time with immense grace. These wines, while young, are dark red in color and always very aromatic, with hints of violets and wild spring flowers.
