2011 Douro Boys Vintage Porto 1.5L

750,00 c/ IVA

The brilliant 2011 harvest produced magnificent Ports: possibly even one of the greatest vintages of all time. This wine is initially closed and impenetrable. With a few hours of decanting, it presents itself with a focused expression of black fruits, minerals, rose petals and mokka, intriguing and intoxicating. Full of weight, but apparently light and agile on the palate, with a voluptuous, velvety texture. Powerful but fine tannins and a long, delicious, dry finish. Only 250 Magnums were produced, with the final batch and bottling taking place at Niepoort.

Description

The Douro Boys are a group formed in 2003 that brings together five estates: Quinta do Vallado, Niepoort, Quinta do Crasto, Quinta Vale D. Maria and Quinta do Vale Meão. To mark the 10th anniversary, the Douro Boys created two wines from the 2011 vintage, which were sold exclusively at auction. The Douro Boys chose the most promising barrel from the 2011 harvest at each quinta, and from it they created a Vintage Port that harks back to the great wines of the 1970s: a Vintage Port that is already impressive, but will probably only reach its true greatness after twenty or thirty years.
